You could find a new bookstore, maybe? Or the library, then find a coffee shop to hang out in.
i would, but i go to school in the middle of nowhere. the closest big bookstore that has books published after the 1950s is over an hour away, and i don’t want to drive that far just to hide out. coffee shops that are not dunkin donuts are few and far between, and the people at dunks doesn’t really like having people chilling after getting their coffee. and now roommate is home an hour and a half early. great.
borders is closing. which means i might lose my mind. because that is where i go to get away from roommate.
this is bad. very very bad. i have a routine.
borders days are usually, for me, tuesday and thursday, with an occasional wednesday thrown in. i go right at 4:30, when i get out of work, and i take my time picking out books and then i go pay for them and flirt with the cute guys that work there that know me because i’m there all the time and then i get a cup of coffee and chill for an hour and read what i just bought. last week i bought ted kennedy’s autobiography and read the first section before continuing to the target next door, where i just wander around for another hour before getting another cup of coffee and going home.
tomorrow and wednesday i have days off so i’ve been planning out what i’m going to do. tomorrow i was gonna go see harry potter again and then go hang out at borders. like i always do. and now it’s gonna be gone.
my best friend would be mike chang. because it’s mike chang. david tennant would be my brother. i think. maybe. and alex karev would be my boyfriend because he is alex karev and he is a manwhore but i love him anyway.
this week, i’m pitching my red sox show. if it is met with agreement that it is awesome (crossing fingers) i can start that soon and have something prepped before school starts so i can start really rebuilding the sports department. if the red sox thing is met with enthusiasm i can do it again for the bruins, the patriots and the celtics come their seasons. i can also do 365 days of SOUL PANCAKE, which i would be really psyched to do, and stuff like “impossible things to do before breakfast” and “100 things to do around campus.” i really want this to work. i really want to do this.
so i was saving my 2000th post for something exciting. instead, you get this.
now, i haven’t always been on-board with the sam evans train. i didn’t think they necessarily needed to add him at the beginning of the season, but then i heard him singing “billionaire” and i got on board. maybe this new character was just what glee needed after an uneven back nine. then….nothing. two episodes of rachel and finn and brittany and kurt and not much else. when they gave him the role of quinn’s new boyfriend i felt slightly cheated because they were both pretty and blonde and that was about all the development sam had. then they sang “lucky,” creating one of my favorite songs to come out of the season. when they gave him the close-to-home recession-hit storyline, i thought that left a lot of stories that could be told from his standpoint. he didn’t just have to be trouty mouth, or the justin beiber experience. he could be a real kid who had lost just about everything in the current economy. then with the samcedes storyline, he had a set storyline for next season.
in every post-season-finale interview, ryan and brad and ian all said that samcedes was a key point they wanted to explore next season. they brought chord overstreet on to fill the void dijon talton left, and he got more screentime than a lot of people that were on the show starting in the pilot got this season. so why get rid of him? why allow fans and viewers get attached to him, develop head canon for him, get emotionally involved in what happened to him? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS, RYAN MURPHY? WHY CAN’T YOU LEAVE GOOD THINGS AS THEY ARE?
i think i came up with something good for this year.
i’m the executive producer of sports for my school’s tv station for this year. while i was wandering around borders the other day i found this book called “100 things every boston red sox fan should know and do before they die.” i want to do everything on that list in one year. i can blog about it and put it on our website and film myself and whoever’s with me doing the things on the list and put it up on youtube and on our boston sports show. would anyone be interested in watching if it gets approved?
